Back on display are two large-scale paintings. Cave 1990 is a mysterious abstract work by the recently deceased British painter Prunella Clough. New York by Scottish figurative artist Jock McFadyen is a dazzling view from the Empire State Building.

These replace three photographic works by international artists Thomas Demand, James Casebere and Jorge Sasse recently acquired through the Contemporary Art Society. Two are currently on loan to the exhibition Out of Place at Walsall Art Gallery

The Marshmallow Sofa and Platform Bench by George Nelson are having a well-earned rest after four years on public display.

New additions to the Wood plinth display include the scorched oak Kissing Seat by Jim Partridge, Robert Kilvington's Flatpack Chair and the Favela Chair by Fernando and Humberto Campana.  The inlaid table by Tapio Wirkkala and Erik de Graaf's Truss Chaise Longue have gone back into store.

Three Buddhas have been removed from open display, but you can still see other religious items including the 19th century Boddhisattva in the Spiritual display case.
