Artists in Schools

Five artists who work across a range of disciplines, have been working on a pilot scheme in Manchester schools to embed art in the curriculum and assist teachers in providing creative sessions in the classroom.

The artists have worked with pupils to develop creativity and expression and allow them to explore what it is to be an artist and develop their own artistic skills.

The Artists in Schools programme has provided professional development opportunities for teachers, increased pupil's creativity and self-confidence and has resulted in the creation of exciting displays of art exhibited around the schools involved.
