Exhibition sponsored by Evian
Originating from the Arts Centre, Melbourne, and following its massive success at the V&A in London, Kylie – The Exhibition comes to Manchester.
The exhibition explores how Kylie, as a performer, has used her wardrobe to create an image that is known worldwide. Get up close to over 300 objects relating to her performing career, including costumes, accessories, outfit designs, photographs, music and videos.
Among the star items on show are the overalls Kylie wore as Charlene in Neighbours and the gold lamé hot pants she wore in her Spinning Around video. There’s even the chance to look backstage – including video footage showing preparations for a Kylie tour, and her dressing room – recreated from her Showgirl Homecoming tour, 2007.
The exhibition highlights Kylie’s collaborations with leading designers, including Dolce & Gabbana, Julien Macdonald, Helmut Lang and Manolo Blahnik. It will also feature costumes Kylie has created herself in collaboration with William Baker, her Manchester-born creative director and stylist.
Entry to Kylie – The Exhibition is free.
This exhibition is likely to be extremely popular, so please be aware we may have to restrict numbers at busy times. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
