A short course in drawing for adults with artist Jill Harrison. Explore different ways of drawing, including drawing from a life model.
The course is intended to be a very general introduction to different types of drawing. The weekend is an opportunity to get into drawing under the guidance of artist Jill Harrison. Throughout the weekend she will be demonstrating and guiding you through different ways to draw. There will some introductory loosening up exercises to get you in the swing and time spent drawing objects and buildings. We will look at works of art in the gallery for ideas and inspiration. The course will finish with a session on drawing from a life model.
There are only 15 places on the course so the atmosphere will be relaxed and friendly. Each day there will be 2 x 2 hour sessions 11am-1pm and 2-4pm.You need to attend all sessions.
Jill Harrison is an artist based in Mosley. Working in both drawing and painting, she teaches adult classes at Tameside College in Ashton and runs her own life drawing classes.
Ideal for people who may not have done any drawing at all or for a long time. Perhaps you think you can’t draw but haven’t had the opportunity since school to spend time on it. Or perhaps you do a bit of drawing and can’t find time to commit to a whole course and would like to spend some time experimenting. The course is designed for all levels of ability and particularly aimed at beginners.

There will be a one hour lunch break. Lunch will not be provided, however there will be hot drinks available. You can bring your own lunch and eat it in our education studios. Or you can try our delicious cafe. There are also other places to eat in the nearby area.
Places are limited and there may be people who are on a waiting list for a place. If you can’t come for any reason please notify the gallery as soon as possible. We may be able to refund your money, if the cancellation is made a week before.
