Kung hei fat choy! Celebrate the year of the Ox at Manchester Art Gallery this Sunday with our lively and colourful programme of events.
We have a range of activities for all. Watch performances of Chinese music and the much-loved lion dance, join in with our hands-on art workshops, discover more about the game Mah Jong and taste traditional Chinese teas.
Listen to traditional Chinese tales, see a paper cutting demonstration and learn how to do origami. There will also be the opportunity to work alongside one of our curators and handle Chinese objects from the gallery's collection.
And finally, you can also watch the much anticipated Vietnamese Chinese New Year Dance.
Drop in, no need to book.
Please note that Chinese New Year is usually our busiest day of the year.
Lockers are available but may be limited in availability, it's worth travelling light for this event if you can.
