Painter in residence

Saturday 8 November 2008
10.00am - 4.00pm
FREE, just drop-in.

Artist Stacey Manton demonstrates Pre-Raphaelite painting techniques, as he sets up his studio in the glass atrium, on the ground floor of the gallery.

Drop in any time and watch him at work. Take the opportunity to ask questions. Find out how the Pre-Raphaelites used paint to create works that shocked their contemporaries, with their uncompromising realism, brilliant colour and their commitment to painting the burning political and social issues of the day.

This is just one of a number of events that accompany our current exhibition Holman Hunt and the Pre-Raphaelite Vision. See our Holman Hunt exhibition events page for details of more activities.

Stacey's paintings are currently on display in the Manchester gallery on the ground floor.
