Are you aged 15-18 years old? Join us for three days of workshops exploring what art is, what galleries do and why art matters. Spend your time looking, talking and making in a series of relaxed and informal activities inside and outside the gallery.
Led by artists, young people and gallery staff, these workshops will give you a real insight into Manchester Art Gallery, including how it works and what it displays.
This is a great opportunity to explore different kinds of and meet other young people from across Manchester. The workshops are suitable for art students and for those without any kind of training but who are just interested to know more.
You'll get the most out of the week If you can attend all three days of workshops. However, if you are interested, but can only come to one or two days, you're also welcome to come along.
If you enjoy this week, then you might want to join us for the whole year and take part in our ongoing Visual Dialogues project which includes visits to galleries around the country and the opportunity to have an impact on displays at Manchester Art Gallery.
This is the first part of the Visual Dialogues programme 2008 / 09. A partnership programme with Tate Britain.
We are just about to enter phase four of the Visual Dialogues project, if you are aged between 15-18 years and would like to know more about understanding and talking about art, then get in touch.
