Join in with a chat about art.

Art Bites is your chance to chat about art with other visitors. Each week we get together to look at a couple of pieces of art and talk about it. Everyone gets the chance to have their say if they want to.

Each Art Bites session is led by a member of gallery staff or an experienced volunteer.

We're here every Wednesday so make it part of your lunchtime routine.

Art Bites is a great way to find out what other people think about art, share your thoughts or questions and familiarise yourself with some of the big themes of art history and contemporary art. You'll also get to know Manchester's cultural scene better and hear about other ways to get more involved if you want to.

Our Art Bites volunteers say:

"I love hearing what the visitors say about the art. Everyone sees things differently and there isn't a right or wrong way to see art."

Our visitors say:

"Thanks for making us feel comfortable enough to join in with the discussion and share our thoughts. We'll be back."

"I wouldn't have looked twice at that art work. I thought I wouldn't have anything to say. But I've just sat and chatted about if for 15 minutes. I'm still not sure if I like it but that's not the point is it?"
