Young curators host this evening of Indian inspired deliciousness at Gallery of Costume, Platt Hall.
As part of Cotton Exchange a group of young curators from museums and galleries from Manchester and Lancashire host this event - 4 The Love of Cotton.
You can try you hand at Indian embroidery and weaving, have a nibble on some Gujarati food and chai tea, watch a film and hear a poem inspired by the journey from the UK to India and back, then chill out with a Bollywood movie.
This event celebrates over three years of research by young people into cotton collections at Whitworth Art Gallery, Harris Museum in Preston, Lancashire Mills, Bolton Museum, Blackburn Museum and Gallery of Costume. This included a research visit to India followed by a six month artist residency programme at Harris Museum and Gallery of Costume which ends this week.
The Cotton Exchange is part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme Stories of the World which is led by Arts Council England in partnership with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).
Drop in anytime between 5-8pm, free, no need to book.
