Use the Gallery of Costume's collection to make covered buttons.

At this workshop you will have the chance to get up close to the Gallery of Costume’s button collection and use this as inspiration to make at least two large covered buttons.

You will draw onto silk fabric, colour with appliquéd fabrics, and hand stitch with a variety of threads, beads and sequins.

No previous experience needed.

Tea and coffee will be available. Please bring a packed lunch or money for lunch.

Artist Rachael Howard will lead the workshop. Rachael is a long standing member of the 62 Group and is one of textile's foremost narrative textile artists.
