Resonance in art, sound and nature

This session will feature a demonstration of an Aeolian Harp, an instrument that creates sounds as the wind passes over its strings. Aeolian Harps inspired many poets, painters and scientists in the Romantic Era as you will see from Turner’s painting of the Aeolian Harp. You can also build an acoustic tonoscope, a special device which enables you to create beautiful patterns from the sound of your voice!
