Get your head around design with contemporary designer Tim Parsons. A two day short course for adults of all abilities.

What is the course?
The course will explain and give hands-on experience of developing design ideas for everyday objects. Techniques such as brainstorming, sketching and basic model making will be used to show how an idea is realized in three dimensions. This course would be a great taster for anyone interested in finding out how an object is put together.

Each day there will be 2 x 2 hour sessions 11am-1pm and 2-4pm
You need to attend all sessions.

Who is teaching the course?
Tim Parsons is a product designer and senior lecturer in Three Dimensional Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. His products have been sold and exhibited widely including through Selfridges, Paul Smith and at The Design Museum in London. Examples can be viewed at

Who is it for?
The course is designed for all levels of ability and particularly aimed at beginners.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing, all materials will be provided.

What about lunch?
There will be a one hour lunch break. Lunch will not be provided, however there will be hot drinks available. You can bring your own lunch and eat it in our education studios. Or you can try our delicious café! There are other places to eat in the nearby area.
