Join us for this series of lectures on surrealism by experts from across the UK.
With Dr Neil Matheson, Senior Lecturer in Theory and Criticism of Photography, University of Westminster
Focusing on the period 1936-45, this lecture will explore the work of Eileen Agar and her particular contribution to the emergence of a surrealist movement in England. The discussion will embrace Agar’s ‘seaside surrealism’, her use of natural and marine forms, her conception of female creativity, as well as considering her wartime work.
