Messenger of Peace was the winner of a 1986 competition - Sculpture for Peace - to celebrate Manchester’s status as the world’s first Nuclear Free City.
The bronze sculpture of a stylised seated woman on a low stone plinth can be found on Cooper St near St Peter’s Square. There are bronze birds on the plinth and on the woman’s lap.
