white plain weave cotton; woven with a narrow white raised vertical stripe ("Dimity"). Double-breasted. Fronts each in one section, fastening with ten pairs of self fabric covered buttons, embroidered with small coiled circles of metal chainstitch. Small underarm and overarm gussets with similar gussets from the shoulder seam to the collar. Small 1" upstanding collar with turn-back revers, faced with white cotton. Straight, horizontal waistline. Collar, revers, fronts, and bottom bordered with narrow beige silk ribbon, with a decorative edging and central wavy line of metal thread embroidery in chainstitch. Additional "V" shaped white silk satinstitch embroidery. Decorative "belt" effect provided by a double band of beige silk ribbon five inches from the bottom edge (over the third button from the bottom). Metal chainstitch embroidery zigzags between these bands with an embroidered oval clasp and a fringed end. This "belt" is embroidered with steel pailettes in groups of three, and with white stitching. Below is embroidered a line of pailettes in festoons. Bacl lining of white cotton-linen mix. Back and lining of white cotton-linen mix. Back has CB seam, side-seams and collar-seams with long side gussets. Three pairs of glazed white cotton tape-ties either side CB. Lining in 4 panels with CB, side and shoulder seams.
