Description

Finely checked black and white cotton/denim. Lining of jacket is white twilled cotton.
Jacket : Separate loose fronts fastening to V neck with collar and revers, with four large buttons. Vertical slit pockets at waist each side. Three quarter sleeves.
Skirt : Lined with shie silk crepe. Fitting at hip, straight below. Narrow waistband with loops for hanging, fastening on left, zip below. Open up CB for 38cm with wide overlap.
Designed by Lachasse for the Cotton Board, Manchester, for the parade "This Year of Cotton" at the Hyde Park Hotel, London on Friday May 29 1953. Checked and plain white denims by Crowther Textiles Ltd.
