Pale blue glazed woollen damask over stiff foundation, lined with white linen. Bound with pale blue twilled wool. Curved front section tapering from side back to blunt point at waist, with curved whalebone at top edge. Narrow high back, boned and fastening centre back with fourteen worked holes for lacing. Four tabs placed over each hip. Shoulder straps. Narrow chequered white silk ribbon covering boned seams down centre front and each side.
In printed linen and cotton bag, probably original. Possibly earlier than stays. (ie 1730s)
