Description

Bag made from white linen squares and lined also with linen squares. Has a short flap and fastens with three small pearl buttons and loops (one loop broken). Embroided in black cross stitch on the flap with a heart and cross(?) between two diamonds. Verse on whole of back and front.
Front : "What is this world and all it joys its / But a bitter sweet and when I got to / Pluck a rose a Prickly thorn I meet / When some kind Shepherd from his / Fould has lost a straying sheep in / Fields o'er hills he ancious roves and / Climbs the mountain high / But o the joy the transport sweet / When he the wanderer find Up in / His arms he takes his charge and to / His shoulder bindes"
Back : "To flourish round my native bowers / And blossom near my cot I cultivate / A little flower the call forget me not / The ocean may between us rowl and / Distance be our lot when This you / See remember me my dear forget / Me not / Take this as gift of love your love / It seek alone keep it for the giver / Sake and use it as your owne.
