Description

Evening dress in pink silk with a narrow double black stripe, trimmed with black lace and white net.
Bodice is lined with white linen. Wide V-neck back and front. Boned seams meeting in the front in a sharp point at waist. Boned and open down centre, mauve-pink ribbon inside right edge with button and loop at neck. Fifteen holes for lacing each side. Short full lace-trimmed oversleeve pleated onto shoulders. Short sleeve undersleeve with two puffs of white net at lower edge ending in net section with silk band threaded through hem just above elbow. Lace trimming down CF. Skirt lined with stiffened muslin. Fastening on left side back with two hooks and eyes, trimmed with wide flounce of black lace.
Crinoline : seven hoops attached together with tapes and covered in white cotton with small diagonal figure. Open at CF with overlap down to top hoop and fastening with two hooks and eyes.
Trousseau dress of Caroline Wyatt, grandmother of vendor, married the Rev. C.W. Bradford, vicar of Clyffe Pypard, Wilts., 1864.
