Description

Shocking pink velour printed with large black polkadots; very wide elliptical brim with circular domed crown and black velour "ribbon" trim; brim lined plain black velour and edge bound in same; crown unlined, showing woven straw construction. Unlabelled
The hat was acquired by a dealer from the October 1987 Sotheby's sale at Monaco (lot 68) featuring the collection of Mary Vaudoyer. Presumed to have been worn by her. Dated to summer 1954 by the Balenciaga Archives in Paris.
