Evening jacket to be worn with plain black evening trousers; tan and blue wool brocade woven with bronze metallic lurex in a stylised floral design in imitation of a "bizarre" silk from about 1710. Double breasted with a single low set pair of buttons; narrow shawl collar; sleeves cut with slightly flaring cuffs (no buttons); breast pocket; side pockets without flaps; lined acetate; inner pocket with woven label, orange on white "Mr Fish, 17 Clifford St, London W1". The wearer was a Captain M Clark from Newcastle. The jacket was purchased at a charity shop in Heaton Moor; hence knowledge of wearer's name as other clothes from his wardrobe were donated.
