Mauve grey watered silk, warp printed with roses and lengths of ribbon, machine sewn and hand finished. Trimmed with purple satin ribbon and silk fringing, the bodice with white Maltese bobin lace and mauve and white net. The full skirt is cut in seven widths with a small watch pocket at waist front.

Dress has alternate day and evening bodices, the evening bodice being cut with a very wide, shallow neckline with boned front and side seams and centre back opening, fastening with 13 holes each side for lacing and hook and eye at neck and waist. It has very short sleeves with addtional lace trim and narrow velvet ribbon drawstring at neck.
Day bodice fastens at centre front with 9 clear glass globe buttons and small purple satin-covered button and loop at high round neck. It has long sleeves, with armhole seams piped with purple silk satin. The front is trimmed with three purple satin bands outlining a square yoke, with purple silk fringe below. Bust improvers inside bodice front.
Self fabric belt of purple satin lined with black silk, fastens with two hooks and eyes, under made-up silk bow
