For a little more each month, becoming a Best Friend gives you extra benefits that will bring you closer to the heart of the gallery.
Becoming a Best Friend gives you:
- Free admission to charging exhibitions
- A behind-the-scenes welcome tour with other new Friends
- Three invitations each year to previews of our exhibitions before they open to the public
- The chance to buy tickets to Friends-only events, such as talks by artists and curators
- A twice-yearly newsletter telling you what’s coming up
- Opportunities to train as a volunteer in the gallery
Plus:
- The chance to buy tickets to three Limited Edition events per year, including ‘up close’ opportunities to see our conservation work in action and handle objects from our collections. See what events are coming up by downloading the events calendar
- Access to the gallery’s new Collectors’ Circle events, for people who would like to learn more about buying contemporary art

Payment options
You can pay your subscription by cheque or by Direct Debit. Paying by Direct Debit costs less than if you pay by cheque because it generates less administration – your membership simply keep going until you stop it, rather than us having to send you renewal letters.
You can join as an individual, or you can take out a joint membership with someone living at the same address. If you would like to bring a guest you can add a ‘Guest’ to your membership for a small extra cost
For an extra £2 you can also buy a year-long discount which entitles you to a 20% discount in our shop and a 10% discount in our cafe.
