Thinking Teachers - Professional Development

Thinking Teachers at Manchester Art Gallery
Professional development for enquiring minds

We offer bespoke development and training that is inspiring, effective and tailored, whether you're teaching at primary, secondary or college level.

"Manchester Art Gallery are brilliant because they say 'what do you want?' They are able to offer a really diverse range of skills."
Cath Potter, Head Teacher, St Augustine's C of E Primary School

Engaging with real objects and works of art is a brilliant way to inspire learning across a range of subjects, including literacy, history, art and design. Our fun and practical training will help you develop new ideas and skills you can apply inside and outside the classroom.

“With other trainers, it’s more theoretical. At Manchester Art Gallery it's entirely practical and this make the CPD effective.”
Nick Paul, Strategic Lead for teacher recruitment, retention and development, Manchester City Council

We deliver whole school training in the gallery and can also bring our expertise to you. You can book a full day, half day or after-school twilight session. Courses are led by professional educators and artists using a range of approaches.

“The variety is wonderful. Everyone looked at something different and everyone found something that suited their topic.”

Amanda Rushworth, Assistant Head Teacher, Holy Name RC Primary School.
