Artist in Schools

The Programme

The Artists in Schools programme embeds art in the curriculum and assists teachers in providing creative sessions in the classroom and gallery environment.

Artists work with pupils to develop their creativity and expression and to allow them to explore what it is to be an artist and develop their own artistic skills. In addition, the programme provides professional development opportunities for teachers and can increase pupil’s creativity and self-confidence.

The programme offers a range of options including assemblies, 1, 3 and 4 day residencies, working with 1 or 2 classes for Early Years, KS1 and KS2. All of the 3 and 4 day residencies incorporate a visit to the gallery to explore our collection and gain inspiration.

Please note: Schools have to arrange transport to and from the gallery .
