Understand how artists have used light and dark to create drama and how this affects our emotions. Moving through the gallery, pupils experience the impact of a black space and the optical effect of bright lights. They enter an atmospheric old theatre to become shadow hunters and explore the changing mood from dappled light to a dark cave. Collecting ideas and recording their experiences along the way they will make shadow sticks which will be used to create their own shadow land.
