Un Jeu Manchester (photograph, lith printed)
Inspired by… Ben Nicholson's Au Chat Botté, 1932
“I find the games that Nicholson was playing interesting. With the deception he makes us question what it is that we are seeing. By creating a duality of space Nicholson produces a contradiction. I have used this layering of the real, the reflected and the imagined. Looking at Manchester’s shop windows, my work reflects on consumerism and the games that are played on us everyday.
It is 30 years since my last degree and having the chance to study photography has inspired and re-invigorated my love of art.”
Susan Webster took a BA Documentary & Fine Art Photography at Stockport College.
