Albert Square from Mount Street (watercolour paint and paper)
“The subtle colours depict the smokey atmosphere in the city. I can remember smogs while attending school in the city centre during the 1950’s. The man pushing the handcart reminded me that my father did this during The Depression in the 30’s for 6d (2 and a half pence).
I have tried to portray Albert Square in 2006 with modern street furniture, trees and pigeons on a wet Sunday morning.
I have really benefited from learning and practising watercolour techniques and meeting new people who share my interests.”
